As exhibitors, we are always interested in seeing what is new and changing in tradeshow booth display design. At this year’s AAO, we are particularly interested in the increased use of back-lighting. There were many booths that incorporated light into their signs and displays, even their floors! Here are a few that we noticed were doing it well.
The Sightpath booth, and several others, are already assembled and ready to welcome conference attendees. We are excited to debut our new campaign, "I am a Sightpath surgeon" in the booth at this show. Last week, the Sightpath sales and marketing team members assembled in Minneapolis for a mid-year team meeting. The main task we wanted to accomplish while the team was together, was to train our Strategic Market Managers and Directors from all around the country on how to utilize some new features of our CRM system.
While the team was here, they received company iPads to help them work more efficiently while on the road; the marketing team unveiled a series of well-received new sales tools (and team members) that will aid in the team’s ability to communicate our messages in a consistent fashion; and the operations department rolled in a MoFe Mobile Femtosecond for Cataract unit so the team could get some hands-on time with the patented transport cart while picking the brain of one of our engineers.
Eyemaginations hosted the first annual MoFe Summit, sponsored by Sightpath Medical, on July 12 in Baltimore, Maryland. During the 2-day summit, a variety of topics relating to femtosecond laser for cataract technology was discussed. Effective sharing of information, resulting in a game plan to create a number of tools in both digital and print formats, was the goal. The team reviewed current market trends and collaborated on new tools aimed at assisting practices with patient education, staff training and MoFe adoption, all cornerstones of both Sightpath’s 75-Day Implementation Plan and the Eyemaginations Echo platform.

Today, we present: 5 Tips for Attracting More Cataract Cases
Dolores Urban, Director of Human Resources, and the management team recently identified a group of ‘first responders’ among employees at the Bloomington, MN, corporate headquarters. Dolores facilitated a certification session with the American Heart Association, for our 9-person team to spend several hours last week with a Nurse Instructor. During our certification session, we learned Infant, Child and Adult CPR techniques as well as proper administration of an AED (defibrillator) and using the Heimlich maneuver to resolve an obstructed airway. While many of our ophthalmic technicians in the field would consider this type of exercise just a day-in-the-life, it’s new to most of our staff at the corporate headquarters.
Jason Andersen, Sr. Technician; Stephanie Mitchell, Clinical Services Manager and Jason Primeaux, CAS (Clinical Application Specialist), successfully completed the LenSx Clinical Application training course in February at the LenSx facility in Aliso Viejo, CA.
Marissa Bellerose, CV-70, shared this photo of her Cataract van. Marissa calls Worcester, MA, home and this weekend saw almost 35" of snow fall! She reports that it took her (actually, her fiancee, pictured) about 4 hours to dig it all out, but that they have it all cleared and she is ready to leave Sunday for cases on Monday.
By Friday at 4pm, the Governor of Massachusetts declared a ban keeping everyone off the roads for 24 hours. The penalty for breaking the ban was a year in jail or $500! Marissa reports that while the storm was crazy, they rode it out without losing any power and didn’t mind being snowed in for a day.
Blizzard conditions and real snow totals from 2-3′ thanks to nor’easter Nemo… But the snow (actual or exaggerated) won’t stop Sightpath! Our operations and inventory teams plan ahead so that even a blizzard won’t slow our roll.
Case days may be affected by the storm, but not because Sightpath didn’t get the equipment and supplies there!
